Biography
The band was formed in the late nineties when school friends Erik Janemar and Patrik Lermon started playing together. The instrumental track Isbox (which got it´s name from the use of an icebox as percussion) promised a very exciting future.
The following years Erik and Patrik started working on songs, often in the manner of recording them at the same time as they were written. The songs now also had vocals, lyrics primarly being written by Patrik. Songs from this era includes the personal, yet universal, The half of me, Sleeptalking (partly inspired by Erik´s new work as an archival assistant), Orden (about being uncertain of your abilities), 60-talet (about a holiday trip through Sweden) and One or two things (about being saved from your unavoidable destiny).
It started to be clear that the band´s greatest strenght (and possibly greatest weakness) was to write songs which sounded nothing alike - from the rock-ballad inferno of James bond, the accordion-driven horror song Dragspelaren to the minimalist acoustic-electronic Chocolat millennium (a piece which the band would eventually take its name from).
In the beginning of 2003 the first, and so far only, live performance from the band (under the name "Patrik och Erik") took place on the open stage at Stockholm pub The Big Ben, where the band performed The half of me.
Patrik and Erik followed the live performance by going back to develop their old songs as well as writing new ones. Recording in various places such as an old gymnastic hall belonging to the bus-drivers of Stockholm and Erik's grandfathers house in Axtorp outside of Enköping was certainly fun but also very cumbersome and time consuming. The band started to get tired...
The year 2006 almost saw the band being killed after the purchase of a Hercules FW soundcard, a utility which the band thought would make things easier. That was not the case.
But 2007 came with hope when new member Antte Jonasson was recruited, drumming being only one of his skills (others include singing opera, human beatboxing, and more). With his drumming the band got a whole new dynamic sound which can be heard in full effect in the newly released demos. During the same time the band got a place to rehearse at Kvarnholmen, just outside of Stockholm.
